All Toro Steel Buildings come with complete, easy-to-understand illustrated instructions. We have designed every steel building kit to require only one size bolt. This means that every steel building can be built using simple tools and basic DIY experience.

Fast Construction

Every prefab metal building is made from pre-drilled, pre-cut steel panels that bolt together quickly. Each panel is then hoisted into position and secured to the foundation. Depending on the size, with a few extra sets of hands, most of our customers have their buildings up in a matter of days. Remember – Toro Steel Buildings is there for you from the beginning through erection, so if you have any questions throughout the process, simply pick up the phone!

Toro Steel Buildings FAQs

Toro Steel Buildings has been serving customers for over 40 years and has worked with more than 85,000 customers across a wide range of building needs. Our customers include homeowners, farms, commercial operators, institutional organizations, and major brands, and we support projects through 30 manufacturing units across North America and international destinations through our global operations. With that mix of experience, production reach, and project diversity, Toro brings proven expertise to everything from backyard garages to large commercial and industrial buildings.

Major brands and organizations choose Toro Steel Buildings because we combine project-specific engineering, flexible building systems, and support from design through delivery. Our customers range from homeowners adding a backyard garage to large companies expanding logistics, industrial, and commercial operations, and we bring the same engineering rigor and customer commitment to every project, regardless of size. With custom-engineered layouts, certified drawings, true pricing, multiple steel building systems, and practical installation support, Toro delivers more than a standard metal building package.

Toro Steel Buildings are engineered for the specific project location, intended use, and applicable design criteria, ensuring the final structure aligns with building code requirements and actual site conditions. Structural considerations, such as snow loads, wind exposure, seismic requirements, occupancy, and other code-related factors, are evaluated during the design process. Engineer-stamped drawings are prepared for the building location to help support permit review and project approval.

Toro backs its building systems with published warranty coverage that varies by building type and selected materials. Straight wall buildings include a 1-year limited warranty against failures caused by faulty or substandard materials, along with applicable roof and wall paint warranties that range from 25 to 40 years, depending on the panel and finish selected. Arch-style buildings include a 50-year limited warranty against rust perforation, a 60-day warranty covering delivery shortages or defects in material or workmanship, and a 30-year limited warranty on damage caused by snow or wind. In addition to project-specific engineering and design certification, these warranties help reinforce Toro’s focus on long-term quality and building performance.

Buying direct from a manufacturer like Toro Steel Buildings eliminates the middleman markup that dealers and brokers add to every transaction. When you buy through a dealer, you are paying the dealer’s margin on top of the manufacturer’s price. Beyond price, buying direct means you communicate directly with the people who design and build your structure. If a question arises during design, engineering, or erection, you get an answer from someone with real technical knowledge, not a sales intermediary who passes your question down a chain. You also have direct accountability; if something needs to be addressed, there is no finger-pointing between a dealer and a manufacturer. Toro Steel Buildings owns the entire process from initial design through engineering, fabrication, and delivery, which means full accountability to you at every stage.

At Toro Steel Buildings, True Pricing means the price you receive is based on what it will actually cost to engineer the building for your exact location and the specifications required for that site. Instead of using a low headline number that leaves out key variables, Toro prices each project around the real factors that affect cost, including wind, snow, and seismic loads, the building’s intended use, design details such as doors, windows, lean-tos, mezzanines, and accessories, and the delivery location. Because steel buildings are not mass-produced, one-size-fits-all products, generic base prices can be misleading and may not reflect code requirements, finish options, openings, or delivery. Toro’s approach is to provide a more accurate, project-specific quote upfront rather than a low advertised price that changes once the real building requirements are accounted for.

Toro Steel Buildings offers multiple structural systems to match different building sizes, applications, and performance requirements. Our primary systems include Straight Wall Buildings, available in both Red Iron Steel and Cold-Formed Steel, along with Arch Steel Buildings manufactured from Galvalume Plus™ Steel for agricultural, storage, utility, and other practical building applications.
We also provide a wide range of building types, including garages, workshops, storage buildings, agricultural buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, aviation buildings, recreational buildings, container covers, carports, barndominiums, and other custom steel structures. This gives customers the flexibility to choose a building system that aligns with the project’s layout, structural requirements, and long-term goals.

Toro Steel Buildings are engineered for the specific project location, intended use, and applicable design criteria, so the final structure aligns with building code requirements and real site demands. Structural considerations, such as snow loads, wind exposure, seismic requirements, occupancy, and other code-related factors, are evaluated during the design process. Engineer-stamped drawings are prepared for the building location to help support permit review and project approval, and local government building departments remain the authority for final permitting, plan review, and code enforcement.

Steel buildings offer long-term advantages in durability, structural stability, and maintenance. Unlike wood-frame construction, steel does not warp, rot, split, or carry the same risk of termite damage, and it performs more consistently under demanding design conditions such as snow, wind, moisture, and temperature changes. Steel buildings also allow for clear-span interiors, flexible layouts, and efficient future expansion, making them a practical choice for residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial use. Over time, that combination of lower maintenance, strong structural performance, and long service life can make steel a more cost-effective building solution.

The biggest advantages are efficiency, cost control, sustainability, and a more predictable construction process. Because steel building kits are engineered before production and components are manufactured in advance, steel building kits can reduce on-site labor, shorten construction timelines, and minimize material waste compared with many traditional building methods. Steel is also recyclable, and Toro steel roofing and wall panels are nearly 100% recyclable. In addition, options such as cool roof coatings and insulated panels can improve thermal performance and energy efficiency over time.
